Todorov's Theory

Todorov's theory proposes that stories start with an equilibrium where everything within the story is in balance. The next stage of this is the disruption of the equilibrium. In this stage, a chain of events occur in which everything is no longer in balance. There is then a recognition that the disruption has happened. This leads to an attempt to repair the disturbed equilibrium so that everything becomes balances again. Finally, the equilibrium is fully restored and everything is back to where it began.

Group choices and explanation

For my group choice, I have decided to go with Connor Ball. I have chosen to go with him because I was in a group with him when doing my AS course when we made a thriller opening sequence. He is hard working and he is also a friend of mine so we can work well together as a team. I also worked with Daniel Lomax in my AS coursework but he has decided to go on his own for this course. I have chosen to go with Connor instead of being on my own because I feel that shared ideas and help from each other will ultimately achieve a better grade along with a better experience in doing the course for the both of us.

Initial Thoughts

I have a mixture of feelings and thoughts about the A2 course going into it. Firstly, I am happy to be doing this course because creating a music video along with a digipak is very interesting. I will acquire many skills from making this, as well as improving my knowledge from the AS course last year.  As well as that, I am happy about this course because I have much more freedom in what I can create. For example, for my AS coursework, I had to create a thriller film opening sequence whereas I can create a music video about whatever I want with whatever music is available to me. However, I am a little worried about this course. This is because it may be difficult to create a music video that suits the songs I would like to use. With there being such a wide variety of song choices, I feel that a strict narrative may be hard to think of and achieve. Also, I am concerned about this course as I have never done anything like this before, as I have to create a digipak as ...
